The COVID-19 19 vaccine has been long awaited by the world. But now that the wait is over it does not seem to be the catch-all solution that people were hoping for. For some, the vaccine has been a boon but others are quick to point out the many problems with the vaccine. The vaccine does not provide any full immunity and has many documented aftereffects.
“The vaccine is very effective and will keep you from getting most types of COVID-19”, said Dr. Pannala, Mayo Clinic. So far 3.8 million people have received full doses of the vaccination and about 20.7 million people have received the first dose of the vaccine. Some common side effects reported are fatigue, fever, pain at the injection site, headache, and aching limbs. Sandra Lindsey, an ICU nurse said, “It didn't feel any different from taking any other vaccine, I feel hopeful today, relieved. I feel like healing is coming. I hope this marks the beginning of the end of a very painful time in our history. I want to instill public confidence that the vaccine is safe.”
The COVID-19 vaccine has helped most of the world so far. Doctors are continuing to find new ways to combat COVID-19 and vaccines are our best hope for now.
