The 35th Expo, for presenting art, culture, science, technology, innovation, and inventions is happening in Dubai this year.
An Expo is a large public exhibition of art or trade goods. The Expo couldn't happen in 2020 because of COVID 19 pandemic, so it was postponed to 2021.
Do you know what the word Expo stands for?
Expo 2020 began on 1st October 2021 and will conclude on 31st March 2022. Its main theme is Connecting Minds and Creating the Future. Expo 2020 also has sub-themes which are mobility, opportunity, sustainability.
The mascots for the same are Rashid and Latifa. The mascots will be supported by Salman the tree and the three robot guardians Alif, Opti, and Terra. Alif represents mobility, Opti represents opportunity, and Terra represents sustainability.
There will be more than 191 countries setting up their pavilions. Even schools will be visiting the Expo 2020!
In each pavilion, there will be live events, play areas, and activities to entertain kids. For students, there is a program called Expo 2020-Young Innovators, where they can share their ideas online and the best ideas will be selected and be shown during the Expo.
